Meow meow mix

I want to take a break from putting pictures up of scenery and put pictures of my cats. I don't know how I became a cat lover, since I never liked animals and I was bitten by a dog when I was 6. Anyways, here's a little excerpt on how my family and I became cat-owners, and lovers as well, taken from my sister Camille's blog.

Never in my life did I imagine myself being a cat person. I used to be so scared of cats. I dunno, I guess they just gave me the impression of being sassy little things that scratch and bite all the time. Then one day I came home from work and was greeted by a scared little ball of fur with big beautiful yellow eyes. It was love at first sight! From then on we were in separable and can't sleep at night with out him laying near my side. We were actually supposed to get rid of him because my dad was furious about having the cat (he thought he was allergic) and how my mom decided to get it without talking to him first. It was so much drama just because of a harmless little kitten. But eventually I persuaded my dad to keep him and now we are all happy and so much in love with him. A month later, Lili was added to our family! Georgie was getting very playful and was biting and scratching a lot and we just didn't know how to tame him down. Someone told us that another cat in the house would teach him how to socialize and behave so we decided to get another one. Georgie's previous owner, my mom's friend Sun, was supposed to give us one of Georgie's brothers and sisters; but, my mom got very busy with work and never got a chance to set up a date to meet with Sun to pick up another kitten. Until she saw my mom at work and told her all the kitties had homes already. Poor Georgie! But, Apey was adamant to the two kitty idea to behave Georgie, so she went on a couple of sites with kitty ads on the Internet and found a young couple selling four kittens! She called them right away to come and pick up a kitten with her boyfriend Josh and our friend Che. They all examined the three kittens pouncing on each other and quickly picked a skinny little guy from the litter to take home; until the owner lady came out with the fourth kitten. She was a cute little thing with soft features and beautiful bold black stripes. Che saw her and declared they where taking the tiny little sheila home. Welcome Lili! And that's the short story of how we got our kitties!

I love New York Part L'un.

Last fall, as a gift to myself, I went on a life-changing trip to the most amazing and most awesome, not to mention my favorite city in the whole world. The city that never sleeps, and home to over a million people, NEW YORK CITY. Despite my tight budget and a short time, I still enjoyed it. This was my second trip to the big apple in 4 years, and I don't think I'll ever get tired coming back there. It was the best time of my life. I will post my photos in three parts, because one part isn't enough space for all the photos that I took. Chattanooga Choo-choo.

Last April, I didn't expect to go to Tennessee of all places, for my friends' Kits & Faith's wedding (I will post pictures of their wedding soon). But since they're my oldest and dearest friends from grade school, I was forced, rather was obliged to come. I am glad that I came because I just realized that Chattanooga is unexpectedly a great place to live in. It's very country, homey, peaceful and the people there are the most nicest and greatest people I've ever met. My parents tagged along because they wanted to get away from the small town blues and be somewhere else besides Wisconsin. We took a 12-hour road trip passing through Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and finally Tennessee. I was glad to pass by Nashville, but didn't get to see Elvis' hometown of Memphis because it was all they way on the other side of the state. There must be a lot of things I have learned while on this trip but I'm only going to list five: 1) Kentucky has the nicest looking grass ever, 2) Indiana is very long and boring state (we must've been driving there about 5 hours total!), 3) Elizabethtown, KY does exist! (I was looking for Orlando Bloom when we ate at Denny's but sadly he wasn't there. LOL), 4) There really is such a thing as southern hospitality, 5) Tennessee's weather is that of Boulder's (in Colorado) during the winter where it snows in the morning and it melts in the afternoon. Cape cod meets Midwest.

Last month for my parents' silver wedding anniversary, we took a three-hour drive to Door County. It is the county located on the peninsula of Wisconsin. If you look in the map, its the little hand or shall I say finger on the right side next to Lake Michigan. I've heard about it, but have never really been interested to go. I was all like, what are we going to see up there? So I went to their website and was amazed at the photos on the header. It looked like Cape Cod in Massachussetts and it really is a relaxing small town getaway. It's like going to the Hamptons in New York without the snooty rich snobs. We rented a 3-bedroom cottage since all they have there are resorts, cottages, log cabins and bed & breakfasts. I was surprised at the price for 2 days and to top it all off, all the utensils needed in the cottage itself was all there. It even included a hot tub, a grill, and firepit for roasting marshmallows. There was a lot of places to see, and seeing the breathtaking views were amazing. Hover on the photos for captions.

Mile after magnificent mile.

I always love going to Chicago. It's not only 2 hours away from my where I live, it's 2nd in the list of my favorite cities next to New York. Last 4th of July weekend, my family and I headed downtown to celebrate America's independence. I never got to see the fireworks, but walking and breathing in the city was way better than watching a fireworks display. Here are some of the photos that I took during our trip.
