CHEESYRICE fotochronicles.

the fotochronicles of a filipina living in the land of cheese.

Bonding with my best friend.

If there's one thing besides men that my best friend John & I agree on, it's coffee. So bring on the Starbucks!

One foggy day.

1: Foggy morning on the way to Chicago.
2: I can barely see the sun.
3: $1 coffee from the vending machine.
4: A christmas wreath hanging on the window of the hospital cafeteria.

Friday night highlights.

my two favorite things in the world: coffee & sushi.

Another year, another blog.

So this year (like every other year), meaning a few days from now which is 2007, I have decided to start another blog. This time, I'm starting a photoblog. I've fancied taking pictures but never actually had an interest in it before.
This time, I am chronicling my life in photos living in the home of brats, beer, cheese, and of course, the Green Bay Packers. WISCONSIN, home to over 5 million people. And almost half of the population that live here are German-Americans or their lineage goes back to Germany. So I ask myself, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE? Cheese is the only thing I like in the things that I have mentioned that are related to this state. Minorities are only 1/4 of the total population. And eventhough I am Asian, the biggest Asian group in this state are the Hmongs.
I guess my parents are to blame. They said that we live here because it's quiet. YEAH RIGHT. I've realized that this place is not quiet after all. I mean, We could've lived anywhere. We could've lived in California where everyone speaks my language and everywhere I turn I see traces of my beloved homeland. Or in Chicago where all my relatives live. Sometimes I get tired of asking them. And I know you're still asking, why am I still here?
I don't even know how to answer that question. I guess the main reason is even if I leave this place I know I'm always gonna come back. It's been home to me for the last 9 years. And I had to admit, taking pictures of the things around me was a very good concept to start a photoblog. I've had blogs in the past that I never really got to updating because of my work schedule, and most of the stuff there were just not me anymore. So I've decided to just put my feelings and emotions in photos. Hence the birth of CHEESYRICE. This is the name that I have come up with because CHEESE represents WISCONSIN (duh) and RICE represents all things asian, and what I eat every single day. Hehe. Pretty catchy, eh? Well enough about this mumbo-jumbo. Let's start with the photos!

1: my messy bedside table.
2: my laptop.
3: getting ready to sleep.
4: my POV from my bed.

I know my room is not that interesting, but I had to start somewhere.
