Cape cod meets Midwest.
Last month for my parents' silver wedding anniversary, we took a three-hour drive to Door County. It is the county located on the peninsula of Wisconsin. If you look in the map, its the little hand or shall I say finger on the right side next to Lake Michigan. I've heard about it, but have never really been interested to go. I was all like, what are we going to see up there? So I went to their website and was amazed at the photos on the header. It looked like Cape Cod in Massachussetts and it really is a relaxing small town getaway. It's like going to the Hamptons in New York without the snooty rich snobs. We rented a 3-bedroom cottage since all they have there are resorts, cottages, log cabins and bed & breakfasts. I was surprised at the price for 2 days and to top it all off, all the utensils needed in the cottage itself was all there. It even included a hot tub, a grill, and firepit for roasting marshmallows. There was a lot of places to see, and seeing the breathtaking views were amazing.
